Human rights – we all take it for granted. We can go around expressing our personal feelings and believe in anything we want. For others it isn’t as easy. Refugees and Asylum Seekers are people who have left their home country to seek a better life in another. But, when they come over to this country, their lives don’t get much better. These people have a silent voice in society. They can end up feeling like they are practically invisible. They aren’t listened to, and they’re not always accepted in the community. So they came from a broken life, tried to run away from it, and then they come to this. They come to start a new life, but end up as broken as before. Many are severely depressed, some have mental illnesses, and others start to ask ‘Is life really worth living?’ Many end up taking their own lives from themselves.
The number of deaths of Asylum Seekers from 1986 to 2006 was 213. 57 of those were suicide. There are 39 more believed cases of suicide from 2006 to the present date. Recently there has been a triple suicide in Glasgow. Three asylum seekers (mother, father and son) jumped off the Red Road blocks in Springburn, Glasgow, to their deaths. This shows you how desperate they must be to end their misery. Something must be done to stop this, something now.

Sorry it's a bit short. This was my English Assement I had to do on Human Rights. It had to be under 250 words.
Thanks again,
