Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when there is the possibility that you will never see that person again but people move, things change and as they say, life goes on. It's harder to say goodbye to some people more than others, all depending on how much they've impacted your life...
I had to say bye to someone this week. It wasn't easy and I've shed many tears (on the London Underground of all places!!) The worst thing is I didn't realise how influential this person had been to my life until it came to the moment when I had to say good-bye.
This person hands over some responsibilities to me as they leave and it's exciting, it's scary but a new season. The problem was I was so pre-occupied with the new responsibility and things ahead that I hadn't clicked that I would not see this person week in, week out. I'd taken that for granted whilst I'd known them and now I realised how important they had become to me.
They'd encouraged me when I was down, they had seen potential in me even I didn't know was there and had become like family.
So the moral of the story? Well, this person changed my life, for the better, they were a positive role model and made an impact on so many lives that will live on long after they have left the UK and that has inspired me......to aim to do the same!
To make a difference to people's lives for the better. In a world where negativity and self-promotion are paramount, to be someone who encourages, inspires and loves fearlessly. To make the difference to just one life which will be worthwhile because you just never know how far your influence can inspire someone - to achieve, to dream or simply to be.
Maybe if we all decided to live this way from now on forward, this world as we know it, would change...
